LAHORE, June 1: The two-day competitions of the World Wide Bridge Contest started at the Royal Palm Country Club Bridge Room here on Friday.

Competitions in the World Wide Bridge are also being held in Karachi and Islamabad as three cities from Pakistan are staging this contest which is being hosted by around 72 countries across the world.

Top players from Pakistan will face players from India and Sri Lanka in the next round which will be held later after the two-day event in progress in Pakistan.

More than fifty bridge players participated in the Lahore leg of the contest including prominent campaigners like Mirza Shauq, Asfandyar, Shoaib Bokhari, Izzat Khalil along with Fehmina Hussain, the leading lady of our national bridge scene.

Other celebrated bridge enthusiasts competing in the contest are Muzaffar Bokhari, Suleman Bokhari, Sajjad Bokhari and Sarfraz Butt.—Sports Reporter
