RAWALPINDI, Dec 12: The judge of the anti-terrorist court No 1, Manzoor Ahmad Mirza, on Thursday rejected the bail application of one of the co-accused in the Shah-i-Najaf Imambargah terrorism case.

Mohammad Suhail, who is already on bail, had pleaded for an extension in his interim bail, but since the challan in the case had already been submitted and the trial was scheduled to commence from December 14, therefore, the prosecution contended in the court that no extension should be granted to the accused.

Citing the prima facie evidence, the prosecution further contended that the accused had allegedly participated in a meeting at a poultry farmhouse along with the main suspects and co-accused, Mujeebur Rehman and Fazal Hameed, and masterminded the plan to attack the Imambargah at Khayaban-i-Sir Syed.

Besides, the accused had also contributed Rs1,400 for buying a motorcycle (RIE 6368), which had been used in the act of terrorism.

The motorbike was later found from the possession of Qari Ashraf Ali on the information provided by the accused, the prosecution maintained.
