PESHAWAR, Dec 11: Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to expedite the release of each other’s citizens from their prisons, Afghan Refugees and Repatriation Minister Enayatullah Nazari told newsmen during his visit to SOS Afghan refugees’ relief programme medical complex on Wednesday.

The minister, who is on a four-day visit to the country, called on NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani and discussed bilateral issues, including the repatriation of refugees.

The NWFP is hosting over one million of the remaining 1.8 million refugees.

He said the sides had agreed to resolve the issue of the prisoners languishing in jails across the border.

Mr Nazari said he had complained to the chief minister about the high-highhandedness of the police with the refugees.
