PESHAWAR, May 23: Police arrested an American national of Afghan origin in the Cantonment area of Peshawar on Wednesday.

An official of Cantonment police station said that the foreigner was identified as Ashraf Yaseen. His visa was expired, he added.

“We arrested him in the limits of West Cantonment police station. He is under interrogation,” the official said. He said that the motive of the visit of the arrested person was yet to be ascertained.

Apparently, he said, there was no valid reason for his stay in the country after expiry of his visa. — Bureau Report
