The by-election is scheduled to be held on Jan 15.

The NA-34, Lower Dir, was vacated by the Amir Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi  Hussain  Ahmad, who had also contested from  NA-5,  Nowshera against Naseerullah Babar of the PPP and  won  it. Qazi Hussain Ahmad also got elected  with  a  heavy mandate of 52,749 votes from NA-34, Lower Dir.
