HYDERABAD, Dec 11: A seminar on ‘Citizen Sector — Global Perspective’ will be organised by the NGO Resource Centre of the Aga Khan Foundation at the local press club on Dec 14.

The coordinator, NGO Resource Centre, Aftab Iqbal, said that the seminar was being organised for media professionals.

The non-profit or the citizen sector, he said, had emerged as a major global partner in socio-economic development, adding that Pakistan had also witnessed some collaborative development interventions between the government, the corporate and the citizen sector.

Similarly, he said that now media and citizen organisations appeared to have accepted reasons for complementing each other’s efforts.

Iqbal said that the media and citizen organisations still needed to understand each other’s roles to ensure effective partnership.—APP
