KARACHI, Dec 11: The provincial government has nominated the City Naib Nazim, Muhammad Tariq Hassan, as a member of a high-level Coordination Committee which will resolve the problems of small shopkeepers, according to a press release.

The minister for Finance and Planning will act as convenor of the committee comprising secretaries of Labour and Industries, Excise and Taxation, Local Government and Agriculture.

The committee will develop the methodology of one-window operation for the purpose of realizing various provincial and local taxes. Besides, it will formulate a policy aimed at sorting out matters pertaining to the privatization process and also recommend measures to ensure peace and public welfare.

The committee will work for the provision of market facilities, formulate a strategy for the removal of encroachments and present recommendations.—PPI
