LAHORE, May 11: A postgraduate trainee doctor was found dead in his King Edward Medical University’s hostel room near Hall Road on Friday morning.

Doctors alerted the Gawalmandi police when they found trainee Dr Suleman Azeem in his room unconscious. He was shifted to the Mayo Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Quoting initial investigations, the police said Dr Suleman died of poison. He would remain in touch with his family by phone twice a week.

Police said that he was normal till late on Thursday and enjoyed company of his colleagues as routine. Later, he went to his room.

The police registered a murder case against unidentified suspect (s) on the complaint of deceased’s brother Abdul Rehman and sent body to morgue for autopsy.

ROBBERY: Four alleged robbers deprived a jeweler of one kilogramme gold and Rs200,000 in Gawalmandi on Friday.

A source said jeweler Bilal Ahmad was going on a rickshaw to his shop in Rang Mehal along with his friend Farooq when the armed motorcyclists in police uniform intercepted him near Mayo Hospital and snatched from him gold and cash. Police are investigating into the matter.
