KARACHI, Dec 10: The Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi, has issued the list of students eligible for admission to different diploma programmes and self-finance courses.

As many as 758 candidates, who obtained a final percentage greater than or equal to 42.73 in the entrance test, have qualified for admission to BS (CS) programmes under the self- financing scheme. However, the final selection of students against the 30 seats, including ten in the evening programme, would be made after interviews to be conducted on Dec 13 from 10am to 12 noon.

The department has also issued the list of 134 candidates for admission to MCS programme under the donor seats. After conducting interviews on Dec 13, the department would give admissions on ten seats.

Candidates having secured a final percentage greater than or equal to 23.14 have been provisionally declared eligible for admissions on self-finance basis. The candidates have been asked to submit the donor seats’ request forms at the department from Dec 10 to 12.

The incharge of the department, Dr Nasir Touheed, said that the university charged each student Rs0.4 million and Rs0.2 million for admission to the BS (CS) and MCS programmes, respectively, under the self-finance scheme.

Meanwhile, the department issued the second merit list of candidates for admission to the postgraduate diploma programme. Interview of the candidates will be conducted on Dec 12.

The form numbers of the candidates are: 470, 511, 589, 601, 793, 815, 837, 926, 939, 1137, 1234, 1272, 1428, 1476, 1501, 1550, 1588, 1643, 1711, 1826, 1857, 1867, 1891, 1922, 1941, 1956, 2151, 2313, 2452, 2465, 2501, 2505, 2515, 2685, 2869, 2932 and 2972.

The 13 students who were provisionally admitted to the BS (CS) evening programme and who have final percentage greater than or equal to 52.56 have been transferred to BS (CS) morning programme on merit basis. The form numbers of the students are: 230, 239, 564, 584, 792, 804, 851, 1308, 2025, 2175, 2309, 2419 and 2907.

Meanwhile, the University of Karachi on Tuesday said that the candidates whose names have appeared in the list for admission to the Master’s classes and who could not submit their admission documents and fee so far can submit the same on Dec 14, adds PPI.
