KHUZDAR: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that measures were being taken to ensure an end to dumping of decomposed bodies within a week in Balochistan.

He was addressing inaugural ceremony of Passport Office Khuzdar here on Friday. “The government is going to contact with Baloch leaders including Brahmdagh Bugti, Hairbiar Marri and Sardar Akhtar Mengal to initiate peace talks with them in order to normalise the situation in the province,” he said adding that steps afoot to recover missing persons.

He invited Baloch youth to leave mountains and come to dialogue table to put their province on track of progress and prosperity.

He said that no military operation was being carried out in Balochistan. He appreciated Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for conducting hearing into the cases relating to missing persons adding that the apex court’s step would help in resolving the issue.

He said that next meeting of the federal government on Aghaz-i-Haqooq-i-Balochistan Package would be held in Khuzdar adding that Balochistan had been given full control on its natural resources and the Gwadar port.

He said that Frontier Corps were deployed in different areas of the province in order to maintain law and order and to provide security and protection to life and property of people.

He announced establishing a university complex in Khuzdar, operation of weekly two flights of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) from Khuzdar airport. He also announced Rs 10 million for development projects of Khuzdar and 10 vehicles for police and Levies Force. He directed law enforcement agencies to launch operation against illegal vehicles in Khuzdar.

Earlier, Member National Assembly Muhammad Usman Advocate and Commissioner Kalat division Mir Akhtiar Khan Bangulzai accorded a warm welcome to the interior minister.
