RAWALPINDI: A passenger coach travelling from Rawalpindi to Skardu met with an accident in Kohistan District's Kozmila area and fell into a ravine killing 15 people and injuring 21 others on Thursday morning, DawnNews reported.

“At least 15 people, including two women and three children, were killed and 21 others were wounded when a passenger bus fell into a deep ravine,” administrator of Hazara region Khalid Khan Umarzai told AFP.

The driver lost control at a bend because he was going too fast, Umarzai said.

Police and local residents reached the site of the accident and shifted the injured and dead bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police sources told DawnNews that the ill-fated bus belonged to K-2 company and had 37 people on-board including 19 security personnel.

Six of the security personnel travelling on the bus lost their lives.
