QUETTA, April 27: Activists of the PPP, including its women members, held demonstrations in Quetta and Dera Murad Jamali on Friday to express solidarity with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and vowed to continue what they described as their struggle for the supremacy of parliament and the Constitution.

The activists raised slogans in favour of Prime Minister Gilani, President Asif Ali Zardari, Z.A. Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Addressing the rallies, provincial Minister Ghazala Gola, Iqbal Shah, Syed Yar Shah and Shan Saqib said the PPP leaders and workers believed in independence of the judiciary and rendered sacrifices during the last dictatorship for the reinstatement of the deposed judges.

They said that Z.A. Bhutto didn’t get a fair trial but even then the PPP leadership refrained from disrespecting the verdict. They expressed the hope that justice would eventually be done in their cases.

They said the PPP would never compromise on its principles and on the supremacy of the parliament. They expressed confidence in the leadership of Mr Gilani.
