LAHORE, April 20: A man was shot dead over an old enmity in Hanjarwal on Friday.

The police said eight armed men shot dead Zulfiqar of Shadiwal.

Quoting the locals, the police said Zulfiqar kidnapped a daughter of his rival, Ashraf, some years back. He was sent to jail after registration of a case against him.

After securing release from the jail, Zulfiqar made efforts for reconciliation with his rivals, but they killed him on Friday.

The police registered a case when the victim party alleged that Ashraf and his sons had killed Zulfiqar.

Murder case: Sanda police on Friday registered a case against three siblings on charges of killing their brother two-and-a-half years ago.

The case was registered on the complaint of Humaira Bibi who alleged that her husband, Shahbaz, was killed over a property dispute.

She had filed an application two-and-a-half years ago for the registration of a murder case against the suspects. Since then she had been visiting the offices of senior police officers concerned, but the case was not registered.

Finally she filed a petition in a local court and the police lodged an FIR against deceased’s brothers Tariq, Ijaz and Khalid.
