Published April 17, 2012

ISLAMABAD, April 16: Ambassador for Women Empowerment Fiza Batool Gilani on Monday announced that all the teachers working in the federal capital under the wedlock policy can stay in the city for an indefinite period.

The decision will benefit about 143 teachers belonging to the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, who were earlier ordered to return to their respective areas.

Ms Gilani said the PPP government would not allow any department to create hurdles for the people.

A function for the announcement of the government decision was held in the auditorium of the Prime Minister Secretariat in which adviser to prime minister on human rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, chairman Pakistan Baitul Maal Zamarrud Khan and officials from the FDE and CADD were also present.
