TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 8: Villagers of Mouza Rajjowal and other villages on Sunday protested against the closure of another Habib Bank branch in the district from Dec 21.

They demanded of the HBL management to withdraw the decision because they would have to face certain problems like depositing their money and utility bills.

Similarly, they said their relatives residing abroad would also have to face difficulties in sending money to them.

An HBL official said that all account holders had been asked to contact after Dec 21 regarding their accounts and other matters in bank’s Pirmahal Town branch.

It may be mentioned that the HBL had closed several branches in rural areas during the last two years.

SUMMONED: A Faisalabad Banking Court issued summons for four family members of Pirmahal for not paying three farm loans of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADBP).

An ADBP official said here on Sunday that the bank had recently filed cases against Iftikhar Husain of Chak 324-GB and his three relatives for not paying the loan of Rs2.05 million.

He said the loan of Rs546,000 was outstanding in the joint names of Iftikhar and his wife Nasreen Akhtar, another loan of Rs770,000 against Iftikhar and his relative Asif Karim and yet another loan of Rs742,000 against Iftikhar and his brother Shahid Mahmood.
