Tapu Javeri shows his handbag collection with abayas designed by Atiya Khan on the last day of FPw# on Tuesday. - White Star

KARACHI: The fourth and final day of Fashion Pakistan Week 3 saw the designer duo Sana Safinaz come forth guns blazing with a collection that focused on the purity of gold with fabric embellished with matte gold sequins, jute weave, sea-green hues along with deep purple velvet with amazing dexterity and scoring on three counts: cuts, draping and silhouette all rounded off with a kiss of gold.

Photographer, artist and jeweler Tapu Javeri showed his funky handbags’ collection titled Tapulicious that gelled his works of photography with truck art and imagery with abayas by former model Atiya Khan. Frieha Altaf was the showstopper in this segment. A showreel focusing on Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah kick started the collection by Abdul Samad that focused on the personal style of the Founder of Pakistan and showcased sherwanis and suits with show opener Aijazz Aslam and showstoppers Moammar Rana and Sajid Hasan dressed up in the garbs of M.A. Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan, respectively.

Iman Ahmed of Body Focus Museum showed purity in design against the stark contrast of dark print with a collection interspersed with fantastic cuts and detailing in what was titled Sartorial Philogy and the New Bohemia. She put sheer drama on the ramp with her collection that was enticing as well as mystical.

After the mid-break, Musharraf Hai was given the token of appreciation for her support of the FPW.

Deepak Perwani followed with his Before Sunrise collection in mute tones with jeweled accessories and twin shaded outfits. The model of FPW title was given away to Sana Sarfaraz by Veet manager Omer Khan.

Feeha Jamshed showed a tribute to the memory of her sister Minnaal and focused on eastern drapery into western attire. It was respectful of the somber mood of the designer who had shown select pieces from the same line earlier at Showcase 2012.

Creative director of the FPW Deepak Perwani thanked the international press  with event manager and show producer Catwalk, choreographer Imran Kureishi, and Ather Hafeez for styling.

Rhythm of Love by Honey Waqar focused on draping with sensual grandeur by way of embellishments. To quote the designer, it is for the woman who is a romantic at heart.

She showed a shocking pink full-on bling long dress embellished by fabric roses along the hemline was well as merged silk thread embroidery with swarowski crystals in a colour palette of soft mustard and beiges. The designer is celebrated in India and well-known for her design sensibilities there and has just started showing in Pakistan. It was fairytale princess meets bling queen grandeur and topped off with an attitude in design sensibility.
