LAHORE, April 2: An April Fool's Day joke resulted in death of an elderly man and murder of a girl in the Factory Area on Sunday, a police official said on Monday.

The official said that a girl, resident of Ghausia Colony, told her elderly neighbour Mahmood Ahmad on April 1 that some robbers had looted the shop of his son Taj Din.

Ahmad suffered a heart attack, which later proved fatal for him.

Din got infuriated when he came to know about the 'real cause' of his father's death. He barged in girl's house and killed her with a blunt weapon, the police official said. Defence ASP Jehanzeb Khan said police were investigating.
