KARACHI, March 31: Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL) has raised the car prices by Rs10,000 to maximum 110,000 on various models from April 1, 2012.

The price of Suzuki Mehran has increased by Rs10,000, followed by an increase of Rs20,000 in Alto, Rs25,000 in Cultus, Rs40,000 in Swift, Rs15,000 each in Bolan and Ravi and Rs110,000 in Suzuki Liana respectively.

Chairman All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) H.M. Shahzad said: “The car assemblers are raising the prices of automobiles due to losing value of the rupee against the yen. This shows that they have failed to achieve the parts localisation targets.”

He said that tractor prices have remained unchanged for years due to 90 per cent localisation in parts and accessories.

He urged the government to investigate the price hike by the car assemblers on rupee-yen parity basis and late car delivery issues to the customers.—Staff Reporter
