LAHORE, March 30: The Islampura police has registered a case against Advocate Asif Chattha and 20 unidentified lawyers for torturing a sub-inspector (SI) in the courtroom of an additional sessions judge (ASJ).

The lawyers had beaten up SI Muhammad Khalil during hearing of a habeas corpus petition by ASJ Pervez Iqbal Sipra on Thursday.

The FIR was registered under Section 353, 384, 379, 186, 506 and 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code, with no arrest so far. —Staff Reporter
