ISLAMABAD, March 24: Capital police busted two gangs of robbers and arrested 23 other outlaws from different parts of the city. The police also recovered weapons, wine and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

Bhara Kahu police caught three robbers red-handed when they were trying to escape after looting a man at Bera Baghwal.

Likewise, Sabzi Mandi police arrested a robber and recovered a 30-bore pistol, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs40,000 from him which he looted from a man in Sector I-10/1. The police also recovered Rs15,000 and stolen items separately from two persons which led to their arrest.

Similarly, Industrial Area police apprehended a person for his alleged involvement in a theft incident.

Nilor and Shahzad Town police recovered a 30-bore pistol each from two persons which led to their arrest.

Moreover, Margalla police intercepted two persons on suspicion and during their search recovered two bottles of wine from them. During interrogation, they disclosed the location of a wine selling point in Sector F-8/3. In a raid at the selling point, the police recovered 44 wine bottles and arrested three bootleggers. Similarly, Shahzad Town police recovered eight bottles of wine during search of a car which was intercepted on suspicion and arrested two persons.

The women police arrested 10 male and female miscreants for their involvement in immoral activities and recovered 290gram hashish from them.

Separate cases were registered against the arrestees and further investigation was in progress.
