160 rice bags taken away

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 4: Eight dacoits on Wednesday took away 160 rice bags from a rice mills in Jatrikay village near Narang Mandi.

Asghar, Basharat and six other bandits entered the factory after scaling its boundary wall. They held up the watchman at pistol point and escaped after loading the rice bags in a truck.

Narang police are going into the matter.

CRACKDOWN: The district police in a crackdown against the drug traffickers seized imported liquor from different parts of the district during the last 24 hours.

A-Division police raided on the Bhekhi Road and arrested Siraj Masih with 20 bottles of liquor.

Baraghar police arrested Ramzan and took into custody 10 liters of liquor from his possession.

Syedwala police conducted a raid in Chak 44 and took into custody Afzal and Latif for possessing a fine quality liquor.

Police have registered cases and are investigating.
