LAHORE: A 25-member squad from Iran is due to arrive here on Wednesday to participate in the 10th West Asia Baseball Cup, scheduled to be held at the Punjab Stadium from March 23-28.

Besides Pakistan and Iran two other countries taking part are Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Both Sri Lankan and Afghanistan teams are scheduled to reach here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Federation Baseball will also announce its team on Wednesday. Currently the Pakistani team is imparting training under the coaching of a Korean coach at Iqbal Stadium.

The best team of this Cup will qualify for the main round of the Asia Cup.

Iranian squad: Amir Bakhtiari, Yasin Sharifi, Mohsen Mohammed, Seyed Abdullah, Hadi Ali, Shahram Maleki, Mohammad Javed, Ghulam Reza, Hussein Abedini, Hasan Bokhari, Abol Fazl Amjad, Mohammad Safdari, Majid Sattari, Ehsan Ebrahimi, Majid Pashari, Keyan Rana, Abtin Nakhijauanpaur, Nima Bagheri.
