PERTH, Dec 3: Germany and Spain will host the next men’s and women’s hockey world cups, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced Tuesday.

The men’s event from Sept 5-17, 2006, will be held in a new national hockey stadium being built at Monchengladbach, Germany.

The women’s competition will be held in Madrid either immediately before or after the men’s event.

The FIH has also announced Champions Trophy dates and venues until 2006.

Argentina, will hold the 2004 women’s event from Nov 12-20 while the men will compete in Lahore, the same month.

The 2005 women’s event will be held in Canberra from Nov 12-20 with the men’s trophy contested in Chennai, either that November or December.
