PESHAWAR, Dec 3: The JUI-F felicitating NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani said that his assumption of the office of chief executive of the province is a good omen for the under- developed areas.

MPA Hamid Shah, who returned to the NWFP Assembly from PF-72, Bannu, said that Mr Durrani would be given a rousing welcome on his arrival to his native town.

He said that the chief minister was hailing from a middle class family and was aware of people’s problems.

Mr Shah, a graduate from the Peshawar University, said that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) was determined to do away with the elite’s culture, which had virtually divided the country into two distinct classes.

The people had great expectations from the MMA, he said and hoped that the MMA-led government would work for the sustainable development.

The MPA said: “We will not allow anybody to use our land for ulterior motives and promote terrorism. We are opposed to violence and bloodshed in the province.”
