UNITED NATIONS, March 8: The Fifth international women’s conference is stipulated for the year 2015 but so far no venue has been agreed upon, the spokesperson to the President of the UN General Assembly said on Thursday.

Ms Nihal Saad, told reporters that discussions were taking place among member states to clearly enunciate the objectives of the conference which would take account of the progress made by women since the fourth conference held in Beijing in 1995.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, went to fourth women conference in Beijing which was also attended by the former first lady of the United States Hilary Rodham Clinton who is now the US Secretary of State.

Ms Saad made it a point to make the announcement on the occasion of International Women’s Day being observed worldwide.
