KARACHI, March 7: To celebrate International Women's Day, an exhibition of paintings by 12 senior and six emerging artists, titled 'Connecting women: inspiring futures', was organised at the Alliance Francaise by the New World Concepts and Grandeur Art Gallery.

Most of the paintings focused on women and the issues they faced in society.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Sindh minister for information Shazia Marri and consul general of France Christian Ramage.

Ms Marri said women were doing wonderful work in every field as well in arts.

Yasmin Hyder, the head of the New World Concepts, said the purpose of the exhibition was to inspire, challenge and provoke thought.
