KARACHI, March 4: A businessman kidnapped on Feb 28 was recovered in a Liaquatabad area in a joint operation of security agencies on Sunday, police said.

A handout issued by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee said that Huzaifa, 23, was kidnapped in Bahadurabad and later his family received a call demanding a ransom of Rs20 million for his safe release.

The family contacted the police and the Anti-Violent Crime Cell and a joint team raided a place within the remit of the Supermarket police station on Sunday. Huzaifa was recovered and two suspects were arrested in the raid, the handout said. The victim has a business of fishing nets, it added.—Staff Reporter
