TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 2: Two opposition members staged walkout from a Gojra tehsil council meeting on Monday in protest against the Nazim for executing various development schemes without getting approval from the house.

Mazhar Qayyum Chattha and Rana Munawar Husain said in their speeches in the meeting that tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Khalid Javed Warraich already completed the schemes, so there was no logic in seeking approval of the house now.

Ruling party member Tufail Zia claimed that the house had in its previous meeting authorized the Nazim unanimously to make changes in the schemes, approve tenders and issue work orders. So he was using his powers and did nothing illegal, he added.

Later, the house approved all the development schemes.

PRIZE BONDS: The Gojra city police arrested on Monday seven prize bonds number sellers.

They include Muhammad Ashfaq, Mahmood Ahmad, Mujahid Ali, Muhammad Rafi, Asghar Ali, Muhammad Ashfaq, Naeem Ahmad and Usman Ali.

HOUSES ROBBED: Two houses were robbed in the Mehdi locality of Gojra on Sunday night.

The robbers forced their entry into the house of jeweller Gulzar Ahmad and took away valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Then they robbed the house of Bashir Ahmad situated some distance away.
