KARACHI, Feb 27: A little girl kidnapped in the Metroville area on Sunday was found strangled on Monday.

Police said Faiza's body was found on a vacant plot in Memon Nagar within the remit of the Sachal police station on Monday. She was around six years old.

Police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The SHO of the Sachal police station said medical experts had ruled out a sexual assault saying that the girl was throttled.

Following the disappearance of the child, her family lodged a report at the Mobina Town police station late on Sunday night, the police said.

They said the victim's father, Muhammad Owais, hailed from Mohmand Agency.

Sachal police station SHO Azhar Ali Iqbal said the victim's uncle had come to the hospital to take the body away.

The family told the police that they would lodge an FIR after the burial.

The SHO said he suspected the murder was a result of some tribal enmity.

Gulshan division SP Salam Shaikh said the police were investigating the incident to ascertain the motive for the crime.
