KARACHI, Dec 2: Twenty vehicles — four cars and 16 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Monday, police said.

Two cars were hijacked. Two others were stolen.

Six motorcycles were hijacked. Ten others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Monday to have recovered six cars and five motorcycles in the city.

ROAD ACCIDENT: An elderly man died in a hit-and-run accident in North Nazimabad on Monday.

Police said that 65-year-old Mushtaq Ahmed Farooqi was run over by an unidentified speeding vehicle in Block I of North Nazimabad in the police limits of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police said that the dead man was resident of Block I of North Nazimabad.

A young man died when he came under the wheels of a train near Drigh Colony railway station late Sunday night.

Police said the young man, identified as Nasir Pathan, aged 20, a trash collector, was run over by a train while walking across the railway tracks.

The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre. After post-mortem the body was handed over to the victim’s brother for burial.
