HYDERABAD, Dec 2: A provi-nce-wide protest day was observed by the Sindh Professors and Lecturers’ Association on Monday.

Teachers in the colleges of Sindh boycotted academic and non- academic activities in protest against the termination of services of the president, Pakistan Medical Association, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, and seven office-bearers of the Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) by the Punjab governor.

Protest meeting were also held in different colleges of Sindh, at which the speakers criticized the action of the Punjab governor, terming it unconstitutional, illegal and undemocratic.

They warned that the SPLA would launch a Sindh-wide protest campaign if Dr Yasmeen and the sacked office-bearers of the PPLA were not reinstated by Dec 11.
