KARACHI: Vote count got underway at different polling stations across the country on Saturday, after voting ended for the by-elections of 10 national and provincial assembly seats.

Polls were conducted for the four vacant seats of provincial assemblies as well as six vacant National Assembly seats.

Meanwhile, 17 people, including police personnel, were injured during scuffles and exchange of fire between different political groups at various polling stations.

Reports of irregularities at polling booths also came to front.

The election commission had set up 980 polling stations where voters cast their ballots for vacant seats. Polling began at 8am and continued until 5pm.

By-polls were held today for NA-168 (Vehari), NA-149 (Multan–II), NA-148 (Multan-I), NA-195 (Rahim Yar Khan), NA-140 (Kasur-III), NA-9 (Mardan-I), PP-18 (Attock-IV), PS-57 (Badin-I), PS-53 (Hyderabad-XI), and PP-44 (Mianwali-II).
