SUKKUR, Dec 1: At least 75 people fell unconscious when an ammonia gas cylinder exploded in the Lal Mushaikh village spreading the gas all over on Sunday morning.

A cold storage gas plant in the area developed some fault after which the cylinder exploded with a big bang.

Some of the people started bleeding and vomiting on inhaling the gas.

Later, the affected people were taken to a nearby canal. They recovered after their faces were washed with cold water.

The owner of the plant arrived at the scene of the incident after three hours.

However, no official from the health department bothered to visit the village.

The affected people went to private clinics all by themselves for being provided first aid.

The bandits intercepted a tractor-trolley in the village and when its driver, Sodo Sher, and cleaner, Javed Sher, offered resistance, the former opened fire killing Sodo on the spot and injuring Javed.

The bandits then took away the tractor-trolley.
