KARACHI, Feb 15: The body of a vegetable vendor was found in Orangi Town’s Awami Chowk within the remit of the Mominabad police station on Wednesday, police said.

They said that the victim, later identified as Babar Ali, 32, was a resident of Iqbal Baloch Mohalla. He was shot in the head and the body bore several torture marks.

The police said that the victim had gone missing since Tuesday. He had no political affiliation and might have killed due to some personal enmity, they added.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

A case (FIR 52/12) was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified men on a complaint of the victim’s brother, Tahir, at the Mominabad police station.—Staff Reporter
