KARACHI: Police on Monday registered two FIRs in connection with the killing of a Lyari gangster and other firing incidents in the old city area that left several people wounded on Sunday.

One of the cases (FIR 29/2012) was lodged on a complaint of Tahir, the brother of Zubair 'Vahshi' who was killed in the early hours of Sunday, at the Kalri police station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (with common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Hussain Kutchhi and Karim Shah of the Kutchhi Rabita Committee were nominated in the FIR, the police said.

In the other FIR (23/2012), which relates to the firing incidents that left several people wounded in Lyari, Zahid Ladla, the younger brother of Baba Ladla, along with two others was nominated by a complainant, Hanif Kutchhi.

The FIR was registered at the Chakiwara police station under Section 324 (attempted murder) of the PPC.—Staff Reporter
