LAHORE, Feb 9: A man shot dead his maternal nephew and injured his 17-year-old sister for ‘honour’ in Ward No II of Kahna early on Thursday.

Kahna police said Ashfaq opened fire on his sister, Ayla, and Suleman Iftikhar of Qainchi Stop Ferozepur Road after seeing the two together at his residence in early hours.

Suleman died on the spot while Ayla was admitted to Lahore General Hospital with four bullet wounds. The suspect fled the scene.

Quoting relatives, the police said Suleman, who dealt in flower business, used to visit Ayla secretly.

Police handed over the body to family after autopsy and registered a case against Ashfaq.

Shadman police said 25-year-old Zeeshan was shot dead by two motorcyclists following an old enmity near Shadman Market early on Thursday.

Police said Zeeshan of Charagh Park, Shadbagh, was on his way home after seeing his mother at a hospital on Jail Road at the time of the incident.

He was admitted to Services Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after some time.

Police inquiries showed that Zeeshan’s brother-in-law had murdered his father a few years ago and in retaliation Zeeshan murdered two people of the rival party and was declared a proclaimed offender.

ACCIDENT: A 32-year-old factory worker was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Raiwind Road on Thursday.

Raiwind police said Altaf of Pattoki was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle.

Police handed over the body to the family after necessary formalities.
