LAHORE, Feb 4: The body of a middle-aged hotel employee was found hanging with a tree in an empty plot adjacent to his workplace near Shimla Pahari on Saturday.

Police suspected Muhammad Rafique, 55, of Farooqabad, a father of seven, committed suicide over a family issue.

Acting on an emergency call, Qila Gujjar Singh police found Rafique’s body hanging from a tree with a rope.

He had been working at a hotel for the last 22 years.

Quoting colleagues and family members of the deceased, the police said he was extremely upset over divorce of his newly- married daughter.

According to his colleagues, Rafique would not talk to anyone during the last few days.

The police said the family refused post-mortem examination of the body.
