Activist of banned outfit held

RAWALPINDI, Nov 30: The police have arrested an activist of a banned outfit on Saturday who was released by New Delhi in 1999 in response to the Indian plane hijacker’s demand, a police source said.

The source identifying the arrested person as Mushtaq Zergar said that he was rounded up by the Cantonment Circle police from Saddar and was later handed over to security agencies.

The charges on which his arrest was made by the police were not known immediately, however, he was shifted to some unknown place by the security agencies personnel, the source said. When police high ups were contacted they denied to give further detail.
