KARACHI, Feb 3: Mohtashim Ali struck a splendid unbeaten 95 to spearhead Korangi Al-Fateh CC into the quarter-finals of the KCCA Abdul Dyer cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Korangi Al-Fateh booked their spot by crushing Aga Khan Gymkhana by 111 runs at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground with Mohtashim hammering five fours and a brace of sixes in his 80-ball knock that guided his side to 265-5 in the allotted 40 overs.

Leg-spinners Anis Sheikh and Wasim Naeem captured three wickets each as Aga Khan Gymkhana were bowled out for 164 in 30 overs.

Tapal CC also reached the last-eight stage of the competition with a close 13-run win against Pak Korangi CC at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Touseef Khan, who hit 72 with five boundaries, and Mohammad Javed, who made 50 with three sixes and one four, helped Tapal CC score 229-6 in their 40 overs.

Pak Korangi CC, in reply, reached 213-7 with Mohammad Zohaib scoring an unbeaten 50.
