HYDERABAD, Nov 30: The Tehsil Council workers on Friday demanded of the Sindh government to ensure payment of salaries before Eid.

Representatives of the Tehsil Council Workers’ Union, Hyderabad City, also called for payment of salaries to the Christian and the Hindu employees before the Christmas.

In a joint statement, the chairman of the union, Chundgi Lal, the union’s president, Qamoos Gul Khattak and its general secretary, Mohammad Akram Rajput, called on the DCO and the Nazims of the Talukas of Hyderabad, Latifabad and Qasimabad to ensure payment of salaries before the festive occasions.

They said that the union had always behaved responsibly while demonstrating patience and tolerance in the face of all hardships. However, they added the families of the lower staff would have to face starvation if the payment of salaries was delayed. They expressed the hope that the employees would be paid their salary for November before the Eid.

BANGLE WORKERS: The general secretary of the Hyderabad Glass Bangle Mazdoor Ittehad Union, Siraj Gaddi, has stated in a press release that many workers were not being included in the old age benefit scheme despite provision of a complete list in this regard to the relevant department officials.—Bureau
