ATTOCK, Jan 31: National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle 400kg hashish from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab and arrested two alleged drug smugglers.

NHMP spokesman said that on a tip-off, the NHMP officials intercepted a truck at Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M-1). During search, 400kg hashish concealed in the hidden cavities of the truck was recovered. The police officials arrested two alleged drug smugglers, Mohammad Bashir and Shafi Mohammad, the residents of Sanghar district. They were later handed over to the officials of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) along with seized narcotics and vehicle for further legal action. -Correspondent
