Inter-club football

KARACHI, Jan 30: Sixteen Stars FC defeated Baloch Fighters (Malir) 3-1 on penalty kicks in the All Karachi Sindh Sports Board Inter-club Football Tournament at Baldia Football Stadium (Rana Ground) here on Monday.

The winner had to be determined through penalty kicks after the score line remained deadlocked at 2-2 during the match duration.

Baloch Fighters (Malir) led 2-0 at halftime when Badal (29th min) and Gulsher (48th min) scored for them. Still they failed to maintain the lead in the second half as Sixteen Stars FC equalised through Rehman (59th min) and Saad Ali (84th min).

Later, Tariq, Shehzad and Saad Ali converted the penalties for Sixteen Stars FC while only striker Riaz Ahmed scored for Baloch Fighters (Malir).

The match was supervised by national referee Dad Rehman, Habibullah and Fazal Hussain with Mohammad Iqbal Minhas as the match commissioner.—Sports Reporter
