HYDERABAD, Nov 29: The District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) has observed that the police officers are not properly responding to the members of the commission.

The commission, at a meeting held here on Thursday, decided to take up the matter with the high ups of the police department.

The commission decided to receive public complaints against police and other departments from 9am to 1pm daily at its office, where the secretary, staff and members of the commission would be available to listen to public complaints and make efforts for their redressal.

The telephone numbers of the commission are 9200020 and 9200028.

The meeting discussed complaints / applications against excesses of the police and other government departments and decided to take up the issues with the concerned quarters.

The commission decided to have close coordination and liaison with all officers and departments to get problems of the people solved on urgent basis.

It also decided to have close coordination with the Citizens Police Liaison Committee, Karachi, and to maintain a computerized record of crime in Hyderabad district and that of complaints, received by the DSPC.

It decided to invite the DPO, Hyderabad, at the office of commission, to discuss law and order and other problems with him.

The meeting was informed that an inaugural ceremony of the commission would be held on Dec 3, and elected representatives, Nazimeen and the administration and police officers would be invited to attend it.

It also decided to hold a press conference soon to apprise the common people about the role of the commission.

The meeting was presided over by Masood Pervez and attended by the members of the DPSC.
