SAF Secretariat donates Rs5m to PHF

ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: The South Asian (SAF) Games Organising Committee, has donated Rs.5m to cash-strapped Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), it was officially learnt Thursday.

“This donation comes from the funds generated through the sale of SAF Hero Card scheme”, according to officials of SAF Games Secretariat which is entrusted with organising the 9th edition of these games in the Pakistan capital from March 29 to April 7 next year.

The SAF Hero Card scheme, initiated by SAF Games Organising Committee, has been successfully contributing to various sports federations for the uplift of sports facilities.

The SAF Games Organising Committee had fully sponsored the national volleyball team as well as two athletes at the 14th Asian Games at Busan (South Korea) last month.—APP
