KARACHI, Jan 24: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has called for completion of schemes pertaining to the provision of filtered water to the people of Hyderabad, improvement of the Qasimabad entry point, extension of the Hyderabad Bypass up to Jamshoro Phatak and beautification of Rani Bagh.

He issued directives in this regard while presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House on Tuesday.

Matters pertaining to the ongoing development works and performance of the bodies entrusted with the provision of civic amenities came under discussion.

Hyderabad Commissioner Ahmed Bux Narejo, Special Secretary Aftab Khatri, Hyderabad Development Authority Director-General Ghulam Muhammad and other officials attended the meeting.

The governor said that concrete proposals and strategies should be presented for improving the fiscal management of the civic bodies.

He was informed that the construction of Hala Naka flyover would be completed within the next six months.

The meeting noted that various development projects funded by the federal government were being executed at a cost of Rs2,661.2 million.—APP
