Boy shot dead

ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: A teen age boy was shot dead in the limits of Tarnol police station on Thursday.

According to police, Mohammad Yaqoob, 19, son of Nadir Khan, a resident of Mohallah Choudhrian was found dead near a filling station.

The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy. According to hospital sources one bullet was shot at deceased’s throat killing him at the spot.

His brother Fateh Khan told police that he runs a shop in Tarnol area. Yaqoob phoned him and told that he was on his way to their shop. Later his dead body was found. He denied having enmity with anyone. — A Reporter

Man looted

RAWALPINDI, Jan 19: A man was deprived of gold ornaments and currency worth Rs790,000 besides 500 dollars and 800 pounds after two unidentified young men took away the bag lying in his car in Waris Khan police area on Thursday.

According to police, Sibtul Hassan was waiting for his family in his car outside a shopping mall on Murree road when two young men appeared on the scene, picked the bag containing eight gold bangles, one gold ring, one gold locket along with the currency and escaped. — Staff Reporter

Woman nabbed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: A woman along with her sister was arrested on the charge of killing her husband some twenty days ago in the limits of Bhara Kahu police station.

According to police, Mohammad Waseem developed differences with his wife Uzma Saeed and she demanded divorce from him. Both were living separately and Waseem used to visit the house of in-laws to see his two daughters and a son at Mohallah ‘Nain Sukh’ of Bhara Kahu.

On December 30, Waseem came to meet his children late at night and stayed at a room in the house. The next day, police was informed by his brother Mohammad Ismail that Waseem was found dead there with gashes on his body.

Bhara Kahu police registered the case no. 375/11 under section 302 PPC and started investigation. Police succeeded in arresting the wife of deceased, Uzma Saeed, and his sister-in-law Fauzia Saeed who confessed to have axed Waseem to death during his stay at their house that night.

After preliminary investigation, police also recovered axe and a dagger used as murder tools that were hidden in a mattress. Mobile phone of the deceased was also recovered which was concealed in a shoe kept inside the cupboard. Both women alleged that they committed the murder as they feared that Waseem was planning to kill them.— A Reporter Stray bullet injures girl

ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: A four-year-old girl was admitted in the Polyclinic in critical condition after being shot in the head in limits of Bhara Kahu police station on Thursday.

According to police, Mohammad Liaquat has filed an application with police that his four-year-old daughter Hurain Bibi was playing on the roof when she was hit by a stray bullet. He said that he heard the noise and when he rushed upstairs, she was badly bleeding. — A Reporter

Draw for bio-gas plants held

RAWALPINDI, Jan 19: Punjab government is all set to introduce biogas plants in the province and, in this regard, it held a lucky draw for distribution of 10 plants in district Rawalpindi on Thursday.

In function that was held at the DCO office a large number of applicants were present. As many as 159 applications were received from rural areas of Rawalpindi district and, after draw, 10 successful applicants were announced and the same number of applicants was announced for the waiting list. — A Reporter
