CR]MINOLOGY as a discipline has much importance in today's life. The role of criminologist is a serious one.

This profession offers individuals an opportunity to delve into a variety of different fields.

Essentially, a criminologist is someone who studies criminal behaviour, various kinds of crimes, their causes, and cultural reactions to these crimes.

In addition, criminologists analysethe responsiveness of law-enforcement officials, agencies and evaluate the effectiveness of criminal rehabilitation programmes.

It was assumed that a degree in criminology has some charm and adventure having links with a prestigious organisation and forces of the state. But, unfortunately, the government has no role in it despite its importance round the globe.

The University of Sindh produced anumber of criminologists, but they are still jobless. It is very surprising that novacancyls announced by organisations such as the army, the police and the the Anti-Narcotics Force.

The authorities concerned should create jobs for degree holders in criminology for a better society, peace and prosperity
