ISLAMABAD, Jan 9: National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Monday recovered four stolen cars and arrested one alleged car lifter.

According to motorway spokesman, a tracker company informed motorway police that a corolla car has been stolen and tracker system showed that it was on way to Motorway (M-1). It sought the motorway police help in recovering the car.

The motorway police alerted all its patrolling officers and after a few minutes, they seized the car in Nowshehra area and arrested Mohammad Sharif.

In the second incident, NHMP patrolling officers saw a suspicious car and signaled it but driver stopped the car at some distance and fledaway leaving the car there.

The officers took the car into their custody.

Similarly, another tracker company informed the Motorway Police that a silver colour Corolla had been stolen and was moving towards Motorway (M-1) in the area of Burhan.

They alerted their patrolling staff which noticed that the car was parked on GT road in Nowshehra without anyone present there.

In another incident, the spokesman said, the Motorway Police were informed about the theft of a car. They started search for it and signaled a speeding car but the driver further accelerated and stopped it at some distance. The driver left the car and fled away taking advantage of thick fog.
