Woman dies in acid attack by husband

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 25: A woman was burnt to death when her husband threw acid on her over the second marriage issue here on Monday.

Irshad Husain of Kharianwala had contracted marriage with Musarat Bibi of Jandiala Road, Sheikhupura, some three years ago. Meanwhile, Irshad developed relations with another woman of the same locality and intended to marry her, but Musarrat did not allow him. Falling into a rage, Irshad threw acid on his wife as a result of which she sustained serious burn wounds. She was taken to the local DHQ Hospital where she died.

FINED: The local tehsil municipal official along with police conducted raids on various shops and fined 20 shopkeepers for overcharging and installing encroachments here on Monday. — Correspondent
