LAHORE, Jan 3: Four more matches, including three draws, were decided in the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Inter-Academy Hockey Tournament at the Sialkot Stadium on Tuesday.

Six goals by Awais-ur-Rehman enabled Lahore to crush Quetta 8-0. He hit home in the seventh, eighth, 19th, 34th, 35th and 40th minutes. Shahbaz (51st) and Rana Asif (55th) were the other scorers.

In the match between Bannu and Abbotabad a 59th minute goal by Salman helped the former play 1-1 draw game against Abbottabad. Earlier, Umar Khalid scored in the 32nd minute to take the lead for Abbottabad.

In the other clash, Karachi’s Sohail Abbas hit a goal in the 59th minute enabling Karachi to hold Faisalabad to 1-1 draw. Earlier, M Asad struck a goal in the 14th minute for Faisalabad.

Likewise, Sialkot and Gojra also played 1-1 draw. Atif Mushtaq put Gojra in front with a 15th minute strike. However, Sialkot earned the equaliser through Nohaiz Zahid in the 22nd minute. —Sports Reporter
